Cookie policy

Last updated: 26 October 2026. This policy explains how mapcoords.com uses cookies and similar technologies, under the ePrivacy Directive (Lei n.º 41/2004 in Portugal) and the GDPR.

What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files that a website stores in your browser. Similar technologies, such as local storage, work in the same way. Some are needed for the site to work; others are only used if you agree.

How we use them

• Strictly necessary — remember your language, light/dark display and your cookie choices, and keep the site secure. They do not require consent and cannot be switched off.
• Preferences — only with your consent: remember optional settings that make the site more convenient.
• Statistics — only with your consent: help us understand how the site is used so we can improve it.
• Advertising — only with your consent: allow advertising partners to show, measure and personalise ads.
• External media — only with your consent: show embedded content from other platforms, such as YouTube or Vimeo videos. Until you allow it, each embed shows a placeholder and you can load a single item.

Optional cookies are never set before you choose. You can accept or reject all categories at once, or choose each one; rejecting is as easy as accepting, and the converter works exactly the same either way.
